St. James' is Accessible
Everyone is welcome at St. James'. We can accommodate mobility impaired, have equipment for the hearing impaired, and visual aids.
If you find it difficult to hear in the church ask at the Sound Board which is located on the right hand side as you enter the main church. You will be given hearing aids that will make it possible for you to enjoy all the wonderful music, and to follow the service which is printed in its entirety in the bulletin handed to you.
We also record the entire 10:30 a.m. service on cassette tape that you might choose to borrow. The sermons are available on our web site along with a complete list of the readings.
If you find it difficult to follow the small print, ask for the large print version of the Collect, Scripture Readings, and Prayers. There are also some hymnals with the words in a larger font. Even larger print versions of the hymns are available. You can of course avail yourself of the recordings mentioned above.
For the mobility impaired, we are proud to offer you access with our elevator which is located on the north side of the church. If this is something you would like to use or for someone attending with you, please contact our greeters at the main door or one of our sidespersons when you arrive. There is a wheelchair on the premises and locations in the pews designed to accommodate a wheelchair or scooter.
Events in the auditorium and parlour are accessible from the automatic door on the north side.
Handicapped parking is reserved on the south side adjacent James' Court and a limited number of spaces are available on the north side.
For those unable to attend, there are the recordings, internet resources, and our Pastoral Care Ministry.
If you need assistance - just ask. If you have a suggestion to help us do better, please let us know.
