Taking care of the Spiritual nurturing of parishioners beyond worship services and beyond the church building is an ongoing priority.

Goals:

Advertising

We use both paid and free ads in the local media and create and distribute posters for upcoming special events. We also submit articles and pictures to the media.

Newsletter

The monthly newsletter “St. James’ Journey” is one of our most valuable and helpful tools to be informed and up to date with events and happenings at St. James'. The newsletter can be viewed on our website stjamesorillia.com. You may also receive a hard copy or email by contacting the church office. We encourage parishioners to submit articles and pictures.

Archives -

Down in a vault, St. James’ is privileged to have in their possession material dating back to 1847 which contain minutes of meetings, historical facts, and pictures of the past.  One would also find the registers of Baptisms, Marriages and Burials relating back to 1847. This is very important data containing historical facts relating to the area of Simcoe North.

As enquiries come in requesting information for families in search of individual histories, our secretary or a member of the Archives team is able to locate many details which are important to these people.

The website team updates the website weekly with news and events and keeps other information up-to-date; improvements are made to keep the wider community well informed. An email distribution list is maintained. The Sunday insert, calendar updates, the monthly Newsletter, audio recordings of sermons and full service are posted.
